About Fort Worth Flooring Co

We are a flooring contractor working across Fort Worth and Tarrant County, and we have been doing it for more than 20 years. In that time the work has been about evenly split between installing new floors and dealing with the consequences of floors installed badly by somebody else — which is why this site talks about subfloors more than it talks about colours.

What we actually do

Hardwood refinishing and installation, carpet, luxury vinyl plank, laminate, tile and stone, epoxy and polished concrete, floor repair after water damage, and the subfloor preparation that sits underneath all of it. We work for homeowners, for property managers with a portfolio to turn over, and for businesses along the Alliance corridor and around the Stockyards and West 7th who need a floor installed without closing.

Our coverage runs from Fort Worth out through Arlington, Keller, Southlake, Colleyville and Grapevine, across the Mid-Cities, down to Mansfield, Crowley and Burleson, and west to Aledo and Weatherford.

Why we keep talking about the ground

Fort Worth sits on a geological boundary and it genuinely changes the work. West and north of the Trinity, the Fort Worth Prairie is shallow soil over Goodland and Walnut limestone; slabs there move very little and preparation is often a morning of grinding. East and south — through Arlington, Mansfield, Crowley and Burleson — the Eagle Ford and Woodbine clays are strongly expansive, and the same age of slab can need a levelling pour and an uncoupling membrane under tile.

Layer the housing stock on top of that. The pre-war districts south of downtown are pier and beam with real wood subfloors and, very often, original longleaf pine hiding under carpet. The post-war ranches are conventional slabs. Nearly everything built from the early 1980s onward is a post-tension slab with steel tendons under load, which cannot be cut or fastened into without locating them first. Three different houses, three different correct answers, one city.

Credentials, and one honest gap

We are insured and we hold manufacturer certifications for the systems we install. We provide that documentation on request, before work starts — we simply do not publish carrier names, policy numbers or certificate identifiers on a website.

On licensing, here is the thing worth knowing: there is no Texas state licence for a flooring contractor to hold. There is no number for us to display, because there is no register to be on. If a competitor advertises a "licensed flooring contractor" number in Texas, they are citing something else — a general contractor registration in a particular city, a plumbing or electrical licence held by someone on their team, or a trade association membership. None of those is a flooring licence. Ask what the number actually refers to.

What we warrant

A lifetime workmanship warranty on residential floors and five years on commercial. That covers our installation. Separately, the materials we supply carry the manufacturer’s own warranty, which is a different document covering different failures — wear, finish and structural defects in the product itself. We name which is which rather than blurring the two, because most manufacturer warranties are conditional on documented moisture readings and a specified underlayment, and a contractor who skips those has voided your cover without telling you.

Reviews

There are no testimonials on this site yet. We would rather show none than write them, and fabricated consumer reviews are not only dishonest but prohibited under FTC rules. When we have real ones, with real names attached and permission to publish them, they will appear here.

How we work

We tell you what is under the floor

Before a quote is written we establish the substrate — a moisture reading and a flatness measurement on a slab, a lifted board at the wall in a pier-and-beam house. It is the least glamorous part of this trade and it is the part that decides whether your floor is still flat in five years.

The estimate is itemised

Material, labour, tear-out and subfloor preparation are priced as separate lines. That is partly so you can see what you are buying, and partly so you can hold our bid against a competing one and see which of us has quietly left the preparation out.

We will tell you to wait

Sometimes the concrete is not ready, the freeze damage has not finished drying, or the season is wrong for filling gaps in a wood floor. Saying so costs us the booking that week and saves you the cost of doing the job twice.

We do not name competitors

You will not find a comparison table on this site with another local company in it. We will compare categories — a national retailer install programme against an independent contractor — because that comparison is fair. Reviewing a named rival is not.

Craft imagery only. We do not publish stock photographs of people framed as our crew, and no image on this site carries an invented name or role. Real job photography will replace these slots once it is shot.

Ready for a floor that survives a Texas year?

We will measure the room, read the slab or open the subfloor, and hand you an estimate that separates material, labour, tear-out and preparation — so you can see what each part of the job actually costs, and so you can compare our bid against anyone else honestly.
